Food Insecurity

Good nutrition is critical for your child's healthy brain development. It's not uncommon for families to struggle getting enough food to eat. If you feel like you haven't had enough food to feed your whole family in the last month, please talk to someone. This is a common problem. You can talk to your pediatrician about where local food banks are located. For very young children, the Women, Infants, and Children's program, which is otherwise known as WIC can provide formula for them to eat. There may be a social worker available who can help you fill out the paperwork involved. You can also talk to the members of your religious organizations in your community for other specialists that might be helping you with your child's medical needs.
